Warning! SPOILERS for The Mandalorian, season 3, episode 4.The Mandalorian season 3, episode 4, "Chapter 20 – The Foundling” finally reveals who saved Grogu from the Jedi Temple massacre during Order 66. Ever since Ahsoka Tano revealed that Grogu was on Coruscant during Anakin Skywalker’s raid on the Temple, fans have wondered how the helpless child succeeded in surviving where other powerful Jedi Masters failed. From the beginning, it was clear that Grogu couldn't have escaped on his own. But rather than choose someone obvious, Star Wars ended up going with the most plausible option for aid that no one saw coming. In doing so, Star Wars debunks seven complicated fan theories about the most likely characters who could have helped Grogu escape.
Grogu’s flashback in The Mandalorian season 3, episode 4 shows that Jedi Master Kelleran Beq was crucial in getting him out of the Temple and off of Coruscant. While Kelleran’s name may not be familiar to many, his actor—Ahmed Best—will ring bells with fans of the prequels, since Best is best known for playing the infamous Jar Jar Binks. Kelleran Beq first made his canon appearance in the Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge series, which is a children’s game show available on the Star Wars Kids website. Since Beq helped supervise Padawans, it makes sense why he was the one to save Grogu. But there are a number of alternative theories that never did, and they can now be officially written off.
