Anakin Skywalker's epic lightsaber duel with Asajj Ventress has been worked into official Star Wars canon. Genndy Tartakovsky's original Star Wars: Clone Wars TV show launched 20 years ago, giiving viewers a thrilling look at the epic adventures of Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and other Jedi heroes. The ending even led up to Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith and the Battle of Coruscant, showing how closely it linked to the movies themselves.
Tartakovsky's Star Wars: Clone Wars isn't canon anymore, however. Lucas chose to revisit the Clone Wars in a different show, one that told a very different account and would ultimately link up to Revenge of the Sith as well. But it is still dearly loved, and so many elements have been incorporated into official Star Wars lore – including entire characters and concepts. Surprisingly, one of the most epic moments has actually been referenced in canon.
