A new report presented an alleged synopsis for Rey Skywalker's upcoming Star Wars movie, though it teased her replacement far too soon. Although the synopsis has since been debunked by Lucasfilm, it's likely that this synopsis came from Damon Lindelof's script prior to the studio's decision to pivot to director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. That being said, the jury's still out regarding the possibility of Rey being replaced in the new script that's being developed (which would be very unfortunate if true).
Having undergone her Jedi training during the events of the sequel trilogy, it's been reported that Rey will be working to rebuild the Jedi Order in a new era taking place a few years out from The Rise of Skywalker and the ultimate defeat of Emperor Palpatine. However, that goal will apparently be easier said than done. Nevertheless, the new (debunked) synopsis for the upcoming Star Wars movie seemingly mixed up the known details from the current movie in development with the original script worked on by Damon Lindelof prior to his exit from the project. However, the worst part of Lindelof's plans for Rey may still be happening.
