BD-1, Cal's trusty droid companion in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, has an important upgrade found when players solve a complex puzzle at the Devastated Settlement called the Koboh Grinder. Found on Koboh, one of the largest planets players can explore, this puzzle has a lot of tricky steps to it. Players must use the Force precisely to move objects around and divert energy conduits of unique matter to earn BD-1's improvement.
The easiest way to get to the Koboh Grinder puzzle is to fast-travel in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor using a Meditation Point located in the Devastated Settlement. Traveling to the central platform in this area using ziplines leads to some thermal vents that are covered in a substance called Koboh Matter. The first part of the puzzle lies within here, above a platform players must climb to enter the right area.
How to Solve the Koboh Grinder Puzzle in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor A quick device players might notice as they climb are three empty orb couplers outside, which could host an orb and emit a laser to ignite the Koboh matter. A room seen past an enemy happens to have an orb to use, which is currently emitting such a laser. By moving a platform toward the empty orb coupler at the side of the room, players can use the Force to drag that orb outside to create a new laser.
There is actually another orb coupler players must use to transport the first orb halfway toward the outside, located underneath the platform players move.
Once the Koboh matter ignites from manipulating where the laser points, players are able to glide to a nearby ledge with two Gorocco enemies. Defeating these foes quickly leads to a breakable wall and a secret door opened with another orb on an empty coupler. From here, players earn the Koboh Grinder ability, which allows BD-1 to make trails of Koboh matter to connect otherwise apart energy sources.
From here, players must continue forward by connecting laser endpoints to Koboh matter sources through BD-1's new ability, taking the orb used to open the secret door further inside. A second coupler outside at the end of this path leads to a second laser that creates a gliding path similar to the first, which players can take to a final platform.
How to Activate the Final Outdoor Orb Coupler The last part of this puzzle is the hardest to figure out since players need to redirect the laser, but the waterfall prevents it from being manipulated using BD-1's ability. Using a large box in the room here lets players keep the door where they originally got an orb open, now let them set up a laser that ends in the first room. Using a small crack path on the side of the room, players can make a trail of Koboh mass that connects to the mass.
