As Star Wars celebrates “May The 4th,” a beautiful Princess Leia cosplay honors Carrie Fisher’s legacy. There may be thousands of characters in the Star Wars galaxy, yet Leia Organa cosplays will always be present in fan events and other special Star Wars occasions. The late Carrie Fisher left an enormous legacy behind, and Princess Leia will forever be celebrated as a Star Wars icon.
Cosplayer rizuki (@rizukiann) shared an amazing Princess Leia cosplay as part of Star Wars' May The 4th celebrations, perfectly recreating Leia’s costume and hairstyle from A New Hope.
Leia used many different hairstyles throughout the Star Wars movies, but the one from A New Hope is arguably her most recognizable look. Leia was among the first Star Wars heroes to ever appear on screen, and her decision to send R2-D2 on Obi-Wan Kenobi’s way would save the galaxy. A New Hope Leia mostly appeared in front of the gray backdrop of the Empire’s Death Star, but this cosplay imagines the character in a beautiful, green landscape.
Carrie Fisher Made Princess Leia Her Own As rich as the word created by George Lucas in Star Wars (1977) was, the actors who embodied the original trilogy heroes helped make the film into a pop culture phenomenon. For example, Sir Alec Guinness borrowed Obi-Wan Kenobi his elegance and experience, while Mark Hamill brought sweetness to what could have been a generic action hero. This is especially true for Carrie Fisher as Leia, who made the Princess of Alderaan stand out among space wizards, deadly cyborgs, and alien creatures.
