Teaser trailers for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor may have given some excited fans the wrong idea of what exactly to expect from one character in the new video game sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. While the point of trailers is to capture attention, ignite curiosity, and invite speculation and conversation regarding the game, certain kinds of misdirection have the opportunity to backfire, promising a type of story that's ultimately not followed up on. This isn't the first time that the overarching Star Wars franchise has done a similar type of trick, though.

Trailers for the new Star Wars Jedi: Survivor rightfully centered heavily on protagonist Cal Kestis, but other characters make some strong appearances in the trailers as well. Particularly when looking at the initial teaser trailer, it leads viewers to a assume that Senator Sejan will be playing a much larger role in the game than he actually does. Though the full concepts, feeling, and gameplay that all the trailers show are still correct, this one assumption led on by the trailers is certainly not accurate.
